Why I love what I do
The world of recruitment is a fascinating one. Whether working on permanent or temporary recruitment, we are exposed to highly confidential information on a daily basis about the intrinsic workings of organisations in and around London. Where else other than recruitment are you exposed to so many different industries, personalities and business issues.
As we specialise in placing PAs and Secretaries, we spend most of our time meeting with inspiring CEOs who have either started businesses or helped transition them through substantial growth.
We are in a very privileged position with both our clients and candidates and over the 13 years of Attic we have dealt with all manner of situations from providing last minute PAs to assist an international rock legend with their upcoming tour, to working with fledgling new businesses which have gone on to take the world by storm.
I love the challenge and learning curve each new role brings and as we are now placing more emphasis on our temporary division, there is yet another opportunity to learn and meet new people.
To get the most out of recruitment you have got to have an intense curiosity about the world and people. Being naturally interested in why people choose to do what they do coupled with a thirst and love for learning are essential places to start for anyone entering the industry.
When placing temp roles in London, the notion of confidentiality and trust features high up on the list of requirements for our temps as they are often exposed to sensitive material on day one. Having solid relationships with our temps and trusting that they will represent Attic in a truly professional manner is the cornerstone of our business.
I am also fortunate to work with great colleagues – we are only a small team of nine and each individual comes with a rather eclectic background. Our staff are all bright, engaging and interesting individuals, all with their separate stories to tell. We don’t do bland at Attic – either with our staff, candidates or clients.
I love what I do, it’s as simple as that.
Kirsty Miall
Director
I have a huge amount of confidence in the team at Attic – they have taken a lot of time and trouble to understand the culture and nuances of our business and it shows. I will keep asking them to support us because I know they will deliver a great result – quickly and with style.
