How to get the most out of registering with Attic
First and foremost, we are here to help. Our job is to find you the perfect job. That means we need to get you know you. We like to take an informal approach to registering our candidates, there is no onsite testing just a face to face chat about what you like, what you don’t like and what you’re looking for.
Nothing pleases us more, than finding you a position that you love. So tip number one, would be to come ready to chat. Have a think before the day about what it really is you’re looking for and why. What you enjoy about your current position and what you know you’re good at. Flip side, what do you dislike and would love to leave behind forever? It’s all in the detail – remember it is from this initial meeting that all opinions are formed and it is from this, that we decide which roles and which clients will be a good fit for you. We always have your best interests at heart you so you need to help us to help you.
We are informal but we still need to see you at your best, so tip number two is come dressed as you would for any interview. It is really important for us to get an idea of how you would arrive for an interview with a client. We will always advise on best dress practice for each individual interview you attend but again first impressions mean a lot. Seeing you at your best also extends to your CV and covering emails – so please triple check for simple typos, formatting errors, correct spelling of consultant names etc before pressing send.
Tip number three – is check your phone! Once we’ve found a role we think will be of interest we will call you. Things move quickly, so it is vital that you respond as quickly as you can to left messages and emails. The speed and reliability in which you respond is all part of building your profile with the team at Attic and is important not only so that you don’t miss out on being shortlisted but also because the reliable candidates get the most calls.
The fourth and final tip is do your research. When you have secured an interview we will send extensive briefing notes with all the information and tips we have. After that, it’s up to you. Please make sure you take your time to plan your route and do any additional research you can so that you are as prepared as possible when the big day comes. Only one person can walk away with the role but great feedback from clients about candidates will definitely result in more calls about new and exciting roles that come through.
All in all – there is nothing more satisfying than finding you your perfect job so please bear in mind all of the above and then press send. We can’t wait to meet you!
I have a huge amount of confidence in the team at Attic – they have taken a lot of time and trouble to understand the culture and nuances of our business and it shows. I will keep asking them to support us because I know they will deliver a great result – quickly and with style.
